Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has urged young women and girls to speak up against any discrimination they face in their homes, friendships, and relationships. He emphasized that fear should not limit their voices. This call comes as the Kerala Police launched a special task force called ‘Speak Up’ to address domestic violence and support survivors. The initiative aims to create a safe mechanism for women to report abuse and access police assistance, especially when direct complaints are difficult.
