UP Govt Bars Protesters Seeking Regime Change Via Violence From State Jobs
The Hindu · india
The Uttar Pradesh government has revised its character verification norms, barring individuals associated with organisations seeking to change the existing political system through violent means from state government jobs. The new guidelines, issued by Principal Secretary M Devaraj, clarify that political ideology alone will not be grounds for disqualification. However, involvement in violent activities within three years of turning lead to ineligibility, unless positive conduct is proven. The government also stated that mere FIR registration or ongoing investigations will not automatically disqualify candidates.
