A total of 149 families affected by the devastating 2024 landslides in Wayanad have been allotted houses in a rehabilitation township. These homes, located at Elston Estate in Kalpetta, are part of a large-scale effort to resettle those who lost their properties. The houses are expected to be ready for occupation by November 30. This second phase of allotment follows the handover of 178 houses in the first phase, with further allocations planned. The government is committed to complete rehabilitation, including extending subsistence allowances and addressing loan waivers.
