A Kolhapur sessions court has sentenced two homeopathy practitioners and a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for causing a miscarriage without consent and for acts intended to prevent a child from being born alive or cause its death after birth. The incident occurred when the man's wife was two-and-a-half months pregnant. The case came to light after a doctor alerted police following a failed illegal abortion attempt.
