German police have detained a suspect following a large fire that engulfed Adolf Hitler's former mountain retreat, the Eagle's Nest, in Bavaria. Approximately 200 firefighters responded to the emergency operation at the site, known locally as the Kehlsteinhaus. No injuries were reported, and investigators are examining the connection of a "suspicious person" taken into custody. The remote Alpine location complicated firefighting efforts. The historic building, built between 1937 and 1938, has operated as a restaurant since 1952 and features an exhibition on its Nazi history.
