इस साल भारत में पिछले 17 सालों का सबसे सूखा मानसून देखा जा रहा है। अल नीनो के असर से बारिश सामान्य से 15% कम हुई है। इससे फसलों को नुकसान हो सकता है और खाने-पीने की चीजें महंगी हो सकती हैं। अगर ऐसा ही रहा तो यह 2009 के बाद सबसे खराब मानसून होगा। सितंबर के आखिर में आने वाला एक साइक्लोन पूर्वी इलाकों को थोड़ी राहत दे सकता है, लेकिन पूरे देश के लिए यह ज्यादा मददगार नहीं होगा।
