The Philippines' Mayon Volcano erupted on October 30, sending a massive ash plume high into the sky. Authorities responded by raising the volcanic alert level to 3 on a five-point scale. Residents within the six-kilometre Permanent Danger Zone were immediately advised to evacuate. This action was taken due to the significant risks posed by potential lava flows and pyroclastic density currents following the eruption.
