Kochi Corporation to Launch Five-Year Waste Management Campaign

The Kochi Corporation is set to implement the state government's 'Nirmalam Puthuyuga Suchitwa Keralam' campaign, aiming for complete waste management within five years. A key objective is to enable 30% of city households to treat their own waste within one year. The campaign includes short, medium, and long-term initiatives for solid waste, plastic, and scrap management, with a centralized agency coordinating efforts. The corporation plans to establish e-waste treatment facilities and is considering a windrow compost plant at Brahmapuram.

कोच्चि कॉर्पोरेशन राज्य सरकार के 'निर्मलम पुथुयुगा सुचितवा केरलम' अभियान को लागू करने के लिए तैयार है, जिसका लक्ष्य पांच साल के भीतर पूर्ण कचरा प्रबंधन हासिल करना है। एक मुख्य उद्देश्य एक साल के भीतर शहर के 30% घरों को अपने कचरे का उपचार करने में सक्षम बनाना है। अभियान में ठोस कचरा, प्लास्टिक और स्क्रैप प्रबंधन के लिए अल्पकालिक, मध्यम और दीर्घकालिक पहल शामिल हैं, जिसमें एक केंद्रीकृत एजेंसी प्रयासों का समन्वय करेगी। निगम ई-कचरा उपचार सुविधाएं स्थापित करने की योजना बना रहा है और ब्रह्मपुरम में एक विंडरो कम्पोस्ट प्लांट पर विचार कर रहा है।
