13 Nifty Stocks Dragged Benchmark Performance Over 5

Thirteen heavyweight stocks, comprising nearly a third of the Nifty 50 index, significantly hampered its performance over the last five years. These stocks delivered an annualised return of negative 0.8% between September 2021 and August 2026. Excluding these laggards, the Nifty 50 would have returned 11% annually, compared to its actual 7.1%. Major contributors to this drag include HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and TCS.

पिछले पाँच सालों में निफ्टी 50 इंडेक्स के करीब एक तिहाई हिस्से वाले 13 बड़े शेयरों ने इसके प्रदर्शन को काफी धीमा कर दिया है। सितंबर 2021 से अगस्त 2026 के बीच इन शेयरों ने सालाना -0.8% का रिटर्न दिया। अगर इन धीमे शेयरों को हटा दें, तो निफ्टी 50 ने सालाना 11% का रिटर्न दिया होता, जबकि असल में यह 7.1% रहा। HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank और TCS जैसे शेयरों ने सबसे ज़्यादा खींचा।
