Fourteen miners were trapped 50 meters underground in West Bengal's Kumardihi A coal mine after a pulley malfunctioned. The incident occurred at an ECL mine, a subsidiary of Coal India Limited. The lifting cage system, used to transport workers, failed when a rope slipped from the pulley drum, trapping the miners. Following a tense rescue operation, all 14 workers were safely brought to the surface without any casualties.
