Karnataka Doubles Asian Games Medal Cash Awards; Gold Winners Get ₹1 Crore

The Karnataka government has significantly increased cash awards for its Asian Games 2026 medallists, with gold medalists now set to receive ₹1 crore, silver medalists ₹75 lakh, and bronze medalists ₹50 lakh. For the first time, the government will also provide a ₹5 lakh incentive to each of the 20 athletes who qualified for and participated in the games. This revision aims to better recognize sporting achievements and provide financial security, as previous awards were considered low compared to other states.
