Odisha Minister Finds 1,741 Errors in Textbooks

Odisha's school textbooks for Classes I to VIII contain a total of 1,741 errors, as revealed by School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond. These errors include factual, conceptual, grammatical, and spelling mistakes, surpassing previous counts from administrative inquiries. Specific errors related to the Odisha Legislative Assembly, Niyamgiri Hills, and Konark Sun Temple were identified. Corrective measures, including fact-checking by experts and revised editions, are being implemented, and action has been taken against over 10 officials.

ओडिशा के स्कूल शिक्षा मंत्री नित्यानंद गोंड ने बताया कि कक्षा 1 से 8 तक की किताबों में कुल 1,741 गलतियाँ हैं। इनमें तथ्यात्मक, वैचारिक, व्याकरण और वर्तनी की गलतियाँ शामिल हैं, जो पिछली जाँचों से ज़्यादा हैं। ओडिशा विधानसभा, नियमगिरी पहाड़ियों और कोणार्क सूर्य मंदिर से जुड़ी गलतियाँ भी पाई गई हैं। विशेषज्ञों से जाँच कराकर और नई किताबें छापकर इन्हें सुधारा जा रहा है। 10 से ज़्यादा अधिकारियों पर कार्रवाई हुई है।
