Keralam Seeks Extension for Ration Card e-KYC Deadline

Keralam's Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob has written to the Centre requesting an extension for the three-month deadline for ration card e-KYC activation. He also urged the deferral of new provisions that would temporarily cancel unused ration cards. Jacob seeks flexibility in implementing the 2025 amendment order, proposing that cards unused for six months be temporarily shifted to a state-managed category. This move aims to prevent genuine beneficiaries from being excluded while ensuring only eligible families receive entitlements. The first phase could affect 44,279 priority cardholders in Keralam.

केरल के खाद्य और नागरिक आपूर्ति मंत्री अनूप जैकब ने केंद्र को राशन कार्ड ई-केवाईसी सक्रियण के लिए तीन महीने की समय सीमा बढ़ाने का अनुरोध करते हुए पत्र लिखा है। उन्होंने अस्थायी रूप से अप्रयुक्त राशन कार्डों को रद्द करने वाले नए प्रावधानों को स्थगित करने का भी आग्रह किया। जैकब 2025 के संशोधन आदेश को लागू करने में लचीलेपन की मांग करते हैं, यह प्रस्ताव रखते हुए कि छह महीने तक अप्रयुक्त कार्डों को अस्थायी रूप से राज्य-प्रबंधित श्रेणी में स्थानांतरित कर दिया जाए। इस कदम का उद्देश्य यह सुनिश्चित करना है कि केवल पात्र परिवारों को ही लाभ मिले, जबकि वास्तविक लाभार्थियों को बाहर किए जाने से रोका जा सके।
