US national Matthew Aaron Van Dyke has paid ₹5.5 lakh towards compounding charges before the FRRO for offences under the Immigration and Foreigners Act. This follows his grant of default bail by the Special NIA Court, which noted the NIA hadn't completed its UAPA investigation within the statutory period. Van Dyke was arrested by NIA on March 13, 2026, for alleged Myanmar training camp links.
