Haryana Farmers Face Crisis Due To Delayed Procurement And Low Prices
Hindustan Times · india
Former Haryana finance minister Sampat Singh stated that delayed procurement of paddy and bajra, along with sales below MSP and crop damage from rain, are pushing farmers into a severe financial crisis. He criticized the BJP-led Haryana government's "anti-farmer policies" and the collapse of the procurement system. Farmers are forced to sell produce at significantly lower rates than the MSP, incurring substantial losses. Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda also demanded the government fulfill its promises and alleged dishonesty, citing issues like tampered moisture-testing machines.
