Early Fibrinogen Predicts DVT Risk Post-Hip Fracture

A retrospective cohort study indicates that early fibrinogen measurement is linked to a higher risk of deep venous thrombosis (DVT) in elderly patients admitted with hip fractures. DVT is a common and serious complication following such injuries. This finding suggests that monitoring fibrinogen levels could help identify individuals at greater risk, potentially enabling earlier intervention and improved patient outcomes after hip fracture surgery.
