Orissa High Court Orders Grameen Bank to Regularise 20 Employees Within Four Months

Times of India · india

The Orissa High Court has directed the Odisha Grameen Bank to regularise the services of 20 temporary employees within four months. The court quashed the bank's rejection of their regularisation claims and ordered the formulation of a scheme, drawing inspiration from a similar one in Andhra Pradesh. These employees, engaged as drivers, sweepers, messengers, and IT workers, had challenged the bank's May 2019 decision. The High Court considered a 1990 National Industrial Tribunal award and rulings from other high courts in its judgment.
