Consumers facing issues with defective goods or deficient services now have stronger recourse under the Consumer Protection Act 2019. This law allows buyers to seek redressal from district consumer forums against sellers and service providers, including e-commerce platforms. If a seller fails to meet promises or provides substandard products, they can be summoned to apologize or face penalties. The process, which can be initiated online via the E-Jagriti portal, aims for a resolution within a maximum of three months, ensuring consumers receive compensation for their grievances.
