Delhi to Get Intelligent Traffic Management System at ₹1,789 Crore

The Union Cabinet has approved an Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) for Delhi, aiming to enhance road network management through real-time data, adaptive signals, and automated enforcement. The project, estimated at ₹1,789.52 crore, will be implemented by the Delhi Police. It will cover 42 identified traffic corridors in three phases over 24 months, followed by five years of operation and maintenance. This technology-led initiative seeks to make travel safer, smoother, and more efficient in the national capital.

यूनियन कैबिनेट ने दिल्ली के लिए एक इंटेलिजेंट ट्रैफिक मैनेजमेंट सिस्टम (ITMS) को मंजूरी दे दी है, जिसका मकसद रियल-टाइम डेटा, एडॉप्टिव सिग्नल और ऑटोमेटेड एनफोर्समेंट के ज़रिए रोड नेटवर्क मैनेजमेंट को बेहतर बनाना है। ₹1,789.52 करोड़ की अनुमानित लागत वाली इस परियोजना को दिल्ली पुलिस लागू करेगी। यह 24 महीनों में तीन चरणों में 42 चिन्हित ट्रैफिक कॉरिडोर को कवर करेगी, जिसके बाद पांच साल तक इसका संचालन और रखरखाव किया जाएगा। यह टेक्नोलॉजी-आधारित पहल राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में यात्रा को सुरक्षित, सुगम और अधिक कुशल बनाने का प्रयास करती है।
