He shared screenshots of the abusive messages on social media, prompting authorities to ask for his contact details. The threats emerged after Shorey criticised the CJP's decision to protest on the streets, arguing that political support should be shown through Parliament, elections, and courts. He stated that disrupting public infrastructure is the actual 'murder of democracy'. Shorey thanked those who expressed concern for his safety.

अभिनेता रणवीर शौरी को ईमेल के ज़रिए जान से मारने की धमकी मिलने के बाद उन्होंने मुंबई पुलिस में आधिकारिक शिकायत दर्ज कराई है। उन्होंने सोशल मीडिया पर गालियों भरे संदेशों के स्क्रीनशॉट साझा किए, जिसके बाद अधिकारियों ने उनसे संपर्क विवरण मांगा। ये धमकियाँ शौरी द्वारा CJP के सड़कों पर विरोध करने के फैसले की आलोचना करने के बाद सामने आईं। उनका तर्क था कि राजनीतिक समर्थन संसद, चुनावों और अदालतों के माध्यम से दिखाया जाना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि सार्वजनिक बुनियादी ढांचे को बाधित करना ही असल में 'लोकतंत्र की हत्या' है। शौरी ने उन लोगों को धन्यवाद दिया जिन्होंने उनकी सुरक्षा के लिए चिंता जताई थी।
