The Democratic Republic of the Congo has recorded over 8,000 cases of Ebola, with nearly 4,000 deaths, marking the country's worst outbreak. Despite efforts, the outbreak remains uncontrolled due to public mistrust, weak health infrastructure, and ongoing conflict. The World Health Organization warns the current outbreak could surpass the 2014-2016 West Africa epidemic. The United States has pledged $267 million to aid containment efforts.
