8 Senior MBBS Students Suspended at Amritsar Medical College Over Ragging Bid

Eight senior MBBS students from Government Medical College (GMC), Amritsar, have been suspended following an alleged ragging attempt on junior students. The incident occurred on the night of September 22 in the boys' hostel's E-Block, where seniors reportedly approached first-year students' rooms. Junior students alerted authorities and their families, prompting the hostel superintendent and warden to intervene. After reviewing CCTV footage and conducting a preliminary inquiry, the college administration suspended the eight students pending further investigation. A special meeting is scheduled for October 5 to decide on final action.

सरकारी मेडिकल कॉलेज (जीएमसी), अमृतसर के आठ सीनियर एमबीबीएस छात्रों को जूनियर छात्रों से रैगिंग के कथित प्रयास के बाद निलंबित कर दिया गया है। यह घटना 22 सितंबर की रात को लड़कों के हॉस्टल के ई-ब्लॉक में हुई, जहाँ सीनियर छात्रों ने कथित तौर पर प्रथम वर्ष के छात्रों के कमरों का रुख किया। जूनियर छात्रों ने अधिकारियों और अपने परिवारों को सतर्क किया, जिसके बाद हॉस्टल अधीक्षक और वार्डन ने हस्तक्षेप किया। सीसीटीवी फुटेज की समीक्षा करने और प्रारंभिक जांच करने के बाद, कॉलेज प्रशासन ने आगे की जांच लंबित रखते हुए आठ छात्रों को निलंबित कर दिया। अंतिम कार्रवाई तय करने के लिए 5 अक्टूबर को एक विशेष बैठक निर्धारित है।
