Sugarcane Growers March on Hubballi; Security Heightened

Hundreds of sugarcane growers are marching towards Hubballi for their 'Hubballi Chalo' protest, demanding the Union government fix sugarcane prices at ₹5,500 per tonne and raise the sugar MSP to ₹60 per kg. The farmers are also seeking implementation of the Swaminathan Commission recommendations and scientific pricing for agricultural produce. Security has been significantly tightened in Hubballi, with barricades installed near Union Minister Pralhad Joshi's residence and office as a precautionary measure. This intensified agitation follows failed talks in New Delhi.

सैकड़ों गन्ने के किसान 'हुबली चलो' विरोध प्रदर्शन के लिए हुबली की ओर मार्च कर रहे हैं। वे केंद्र सरकार से गन्ने की कीमत ₹5,500 प्रति टन तय करने और चीनी MSP को ₹60 प्रति किलो बढ़ाने की मांग कर रहे हैं। किसान स्वामीनाथन आयोग की सिफारिशों को लागू करने और कृषि उपज के लिए वैज्ञानिक मूल्य निर्धारण की भी मांग कर रहे हैं। केंद्रीय मंत्री प्रह्लाद जोशी के आवास और कार्यालय के पास बैरिकेड्स लगाकर हुबली में सुरक्षा कड़ी कर दी गई है। नई दिल्ली में बातचीत विफल होने के बाद यह आंदोलन तेज हो गया है।
