The Hindu · india
Former Health Ministers P.K. Sreemathy, K.K. Shailaja, and Veena George have accused the Kerala government of corporatising the state's public health sector. They allege that Health Minister K. Muraleedharan is trivialising issues and mishandling the department, threatening the public health system nurtured over the past decade. The former ministers demanded an inquiry into the distribution of clinical trial drugs to SMA patients and questioned the minister's dealings with a pharma firm. They also expressed concern that a task force for healthy ageing could open the sector to private players.
