J&K Assembly Sees Ruckus Over Statehood Resolution

The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly experienced significant disruption on Monday as BJP members protested a resolution seeking the restoration of Statehood. BJP legislators entered the well of the House, tore papers, and conducted mock proceedings to oppose the resolution moved by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The opposition party also moved a motion to remove the Speaker for allegedly allowing the resolution against rules. BJP leaders stated their commitment to Statehood but deemed the resolution unacceptable due to its constitutional implications.

सोमवार को जम्मू और कश्मीर विधानसभा में बीजेपी सदस्यों के राज्य का दर्जा बहाली की मांग वाले प्रस्ताव के विरोध में ज़बरदस्त हंगामा हुआ। बीजेपी विधायकों ने सदन के बीच में आकर कागज़ फाड़े और मुख्यमंत्री उमर अब्दुल्ला द्वारा लाए गए प्रस्ताव का विरोध करने के लिए नकली कार्यवाही की। विपक्षी पार्टी ने स्पीकर को हटाने के लिए भी एक प्रस्ताव पेश किया, उन पर नियमों के खिलाफ प्रस्ताव लाने का आरोप लगाया। बीजेपी नेताओं ने राज्य का दर्जा बहाली के प्रति अपनी प्रतिबद्धता जताई लेकिन संवैधानिक निहितार्थों के कारण प्रस्ताव को अस्वीकार्य बताया।
