Sebi Fines Four Entities Rs 40 Lakh For Axis MF Front-Running Case

Capital markets regulator Sebi has imposed a Rs 40 lakh penalty on four entities, including two stock brokers and their directors, for facilitating front-running trades of Axis Mutual Fund. The investigation covered the period from April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022. Sebi found that Woodstock Broking and Marfatia Stock Broking provided necessary infrastructure and technical assistance to execute fraudulent trades. The brokers aided remote access to trading terminals for an unauthorised individual in Dubai, violating PFUTP Rules. The entities have been directed to pay the penalty within 45 days.

पूंजी बाजार नियामक सेबी ने एक्सिस म्यूचुअल फंड के फ्रंट-रनिंग ट्रेडों को सुविधाजनक बनाने के लिए दो स्टॉक ब्रोकर्स और उनके निदेशकों सहित चार संस्थाओं पर 40 लाख रुपये का जुर्माना लगाया है। जांच में 1 अप्रैल, 2021 से 31 मार्च, 2022 तक की अवधि को कवर किया गया था। सेबी ने पाया कि वुडस्टॉक ब्रोकिंग और मारफतिया स्टॉक ब्रोकिंग ने धोखाधड़ी वाले ट्रेडों को निष्पादित करने के लिए आवश्यक बुनियादी ढांचा और तकनीकी सहायता प्रदान की। ब्रोकर्स ने दुबई में एक अनधिकृत व्यक्ति के लिए ट्रेडिंग टर्मिनलों तक रिमोट एक्सेस की सुविधा दी, जो PFUTP नियमों का उल्लंघन है। संस्थाओं को 45 दिनों के भीतर जुर्माना राशि का भुगतान करने का निर्देश दिया गया है।
