MP Panchayat Officer Dismissed After 14-Year-Old Dacoity Case Conviction

A Panchayat Coordination Officer in Madhya Pradesh's Mauganj district has been dismissed from government service. Ramkushal Mishra was sacked based on a conviction from a 14-year-old dacoity and assault case. The Rewa court had sentenced him to three years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine in 2012. The Directorate of Panchayat Raj, Bhopal, cited this conviction as gross misconduct under civil service rules. The department stated that retaining an employee convicted of serious criminal acts like dacoity and assault is not in the public interest.
