Times of India · business

India's industrial production saw a significant increase of 6.7% in September, surpassing the 6.1% growth recorded in the same month last year. This expansion was primarily fueled by strong performance in the manufacturing and electricity sectors. Manufacturing output grew by 7.6%, with contributions from various industry groups, while electricity supply saw an 11.2% rise, partly due to heatwave conditions. Capital and intermediate goods also registered double-digit growth, indicating positive investment trends. However, mining and quarrying activity continued to contract.
