ONGC Discovers Gas Off Odisha Coast

Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) has discovered gas in a deepwater well off India's eastern coast, approximately 43 km from Konark, Odisha. The discovery was made on September 18 in the Mahanadi Offshore Basin as part of the Samudra Manthan exploration campaign. The well encountered gas at a depth of 1,441-1,452 metres and has shown encouraging flow for three days.
