Punjab Farmer Earns Rs 1 Lakh Per Acre

Gurwinder Singh Sohi, a 45-year-old farmer from Punjab's Fatehgarh Sahib district, switched from traditional wheat farming to growing exotic flowers in 2008. He found that floriculture can yield significantly higher income compared to wheat and rice cultivation. Singh now cultivates 40 varieties of exotic flowers on 22 acres, producing 10 tonnes per season and earning Rs 1 lakh per acre. His success demonstrates a profitable alternative for farmers in the region.

पंजाब किसान प्रति एकड़ कमाए ₹1 लाख

पंजाब के फतेहगढ़ साहिब जिले के गुरविंदर सिंह सोही, जो एक किसान हैं, ने 2008 में गेहूं की खेती छोड़कर विदेशी फूल उगाना शुरू किया। उन्होंने पाया कि फूलों की खेती से गेहूं और धान की तुलना में कहीं ज़्यादा कमाई होती है। अब वह 22 एकड़ में विदेशी फूलों की 40 किस्में उगाते हैं, हर सीज़न में 10 टन उत्पादन करते हैं और प्रति एकड़ 1 लाख रुपये कमाते हैं। यह क्षेत्र के किसानों के लिए एक मुनाफे वाला विकल्प साबित हुआ है।
