UP Youth Wanted in Abduction Case Climbs Tower Demanding Marriage

A 20-year-old man, wanted in a minor abduction case, climbed a 100-metre electricity tower in Pratapgarh district, Uttar Pradesh. He demanded to marry the minor girl and posted videos of himself allegedly self-harming on social media. Police had registered an FIR against him in June, and he had been absconding after obtaining a stay on his arrest. The youth remained on the tower for over six hours despite police appeals. Rescue efforts were underway as a large crowd gathered at the scene.

एक 20 वर्षीय युवक, जो एक नाबालिग अपहरण मामले में वांछित था, उत्तर प्रदेश के प्रतापगढ़ जिले में 100 मीटर ऊंचे बिजली के टावर पर चढ़ गया। उसने नाबालिग लड़की से शादी करने की मांग की और सोशल मीडिया पर खुद को नुकसान पहुंचाने के वीडियो पोस्ट किए। पुलिस ने जून में उसके खिलाफ एफआईआर दर्ज की थी, और गिरफ्तारी पर रोक लगाने के बाद से वह फरार था। पुलिस की अपील के बावजूद युवक छह घंटे से अधिक समय तक टावर पर रहा। मौके पर बड़ी भीड़ जमा होने के कारण बचाव के प्रयास जारी थे।
