Liquor Sales Banned in Lucknow Today For Legislative Council Polls

All liquor shops in Lucknow will remain closed on Friday, as the district administration has declared a dry day for the biennial Uttar Pradesh legislative council elections. District Magistrate Vishakh G ordered the shutdown to ensure fair polling and maintain law and order. The closure will also be enforced, the counting day. This measure aims to prevent voters from being influenced by the distribution of free liquor, even though the election is indirect.
