Karnataka BJP Threatens Police Station Sieges Over FIRs Against Party Workers

The Karnataka BJP has announced plans to lay siege to police stations and Superintendents of Police offices if the government continues to file FIRs against its workers concerning Form 7 issues. State president B.Y. Vijayendra stated the Congress government has created confusion regarding Form 7, and the High Court has previously reprimanded the state over FIRs against BJP members. The party also opposes extending powers for permanent residential certificates to lower officials, advocating for tahsildar-grade officers to hold such authority.

कर्नाटक बीजेपी ने ऐलान किया है कि अगर सरकार उसके कार्यकर्ताओं के खिलाफ फॉर्म 7 के मामलों में एफआईआर दर्ज करना जारी रखती है, तो वे पुलिस स्टेशनों और अधीक्षकों के दफ्तरों को घेरेंगे। प्रदेश अध्यक्ष बी.वाई. विजयेंद्र ने कहा कि कांग्रेस सरकार ने फॉर्म 7 को लेकर भ्रम पैदा किया है, और इससे पहले हाई कोर्ट भी बीजेपी नेताओं के खिलाफ एफआईआर पर राज्य को फटकार लगा चुका है। पार्टी स्थायी निवास प्रमाण पत्र के अधिकार निचले अधिकारियों को देने का भी विरोध करती है, और चाहती है कि तहसीलदार स्तर के अधिकारी ही यह अधिकार रखें।
