Delhi High-Rises Face Mandatory Structural Safety Audits

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has mandated structural safety audits for older high-rise buildings and high-footfall structures sanctioned before March 21, 2001. This directive, issued due to concerns over recent building collapses and Delhi's seismic vulnerability, requires audits to be completed within three months. The assessments will cover buildings over 15 metres and those below 15 metres with significant public gatherings, including group housing, schools, hospitals, and malls. Owners must undertake necessary retrofitting, with non-compliance potentially leading to action.

दिल्ली की ऊंची इमारतों का अनिवार्य ढांचागत सुरक्षा ऑडिट

दिल्ली डेवलपमेंट अथॉरिटी (DDA) ने 21 मार्च 2001 से पहले बनी पुरानी ऊंची इमारतों और ज्यादा लोगों के आने-जाने वाली इमारतों के लिए स्ट्रक्चरल सेफ्टी ऑडिट अनिवार्य कर दिया है। हाल में हुई बिल्डिंग दुर्घटनाओं और दिल्ली की भूकंप संवेदनशीलता को देखते हुए यह फैसला लिया गया है। यह ऑडिट तीन महीने में पूरा करना होगा। 15 मीटर से ऊंची और कम ऊंचाई वाली लेकिन भीड़भाड़ वाली इमारतों, जैसे ग्रुप हाउसिंग, स्कूल, अस्पताल और मॉल का भी ऑडिट होगा। मालिकों को ज़रूरी सुधार कराने होंगे, वरना कार्रवाई हो सकती है।
