Business Standard Markets · stocks

Oil prices saw an increase on Thursday due to ongoing concerns about supply from West Asia, exacerbated by rising attacks on shipping in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude futures rose by 1.33% to $101.53 a barrel, while US WTI crude futures gained 1.26% to $89.39. These supply worries persist despite the International Energy Agency's agreement to accelerate oil stock releases. Attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, which handles significant global oil shipments, have escalated in October, increasing costs and risks for cargoes and crew.
