Elderly Rider Dies After Falling Into Open Culvert Pit During Kumbh Work

A 61-year-old man, Prakash Wandeshkar, died in Nashik after his two-wheeler fell into an open pit dug for a box culvert at a Kumbh work site. Locals allege inadequate barricading and warning signs at the construction zone, claiming the rider strayed into the area and plunged into the pit. However, the Nashik Municipal Corporation commissioner stated that sufficient barricades were in place and the motorcyclist removed them to enter the restricted area. Police have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating the incident.
