Barmer police in Rajasthan have uncovered a racket involving the diversion of approximately 3.5 lakh Buprenorphine tablets. Investigators found that a de-addiction centre in Jaisalmer, listed as a recipient, did not exist; a hotel was operating at the address. The probe began after police seized thousands of tablets in two separate incidents in Barmer. Four individuals, including a doctor from Gujarat, were arrested for allegedly procuring and diverting the prescription opioid.
