Asia's largest wooden palace, the 17th-century Padmanabhapuram Palace in Kanyakumari, faces significant pressure from over six lakh annual visitors. The Kerala archaeology department, which spent 2.3 crore on recent restorations, is considering an online ticketing system and slot-based entry to manage footfalls. This measure aims to protect the heritage structure, built with traditional materials, from the wear and tear caused by excessive tourism.

कन्याकुमारी का 17वीं सदी का पद्मनाभपुरम पैलेस, जो एशिया का सबसे बड़ा लकड़ी का महल है, हर साल छह लाख से ज़्यादा पर्यटकों के दबाव से जूझ रहा है। केरल के पुरातत्व विभाग ने हाल ही में 2.3 करोड़ रुपये खर्च करके इसकी मरम्मत करवाई है। अब वे भीड़ को संभालने के लिए ऑनलाइन टिकट और स्लॉट-आधारित प्रवेश की सोच रहे हैं। इसका मकसद इस ऐतिहासिक इमारत को ज़्यादा भीड़ से होने वाले नुकसान से बचाना है।
