NH-744 Greenfield Highway DPR Submitted to NHAI for ₹27,000 Crore Project

The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the ₹27,000 crore National Highway 744 Greenfield Highway, covering the Kadambattukonam–Edamon stretch, has been submitted to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). This project aims to develop the remaining sections of the 201 km highway connecting Kadambattukonam to Madurai. The plan includes constructing four tunnels, with a significant portion passing through the Western Ghats wildlife sanctuary, requiring Supreme Court clearance. Once approved, the project will proceed to Union Cabinet approval, followed by land acquisition and construction.
