नेपाल में बाढ़ से मरने वालों की संख्या 1,400 से ज़्यादा हो गई है। 26 अगस्त को नेपाल-तिब्बत सीमा के पास हिमस्खलन से आई विनाशकारी बाढ़ के बाद 6,000 से ज़्यादा लोग अभी भी लापता हैं। बचाव दल लापता लोगों की तलाश कर रहे हैं, जबकि 13,700 लोगों को बचाया जा चुका है। चितवन जिले में सबसे ज़्यादा शव मिले हैं। कई शव बुरी तरह क्षतिग्रस्त होने के कारण डीएनए जांच की ज़रूरत पड़ रही है।
