Panchkula Power Cuts Hit Residents Amid Staff Strike Against Privatisation

Several parts of Panchkula experienced power cuts on Wednesday as Haryana power utility employees commenced a three-day strike against the privatisation of power distribution. The strike, opposing the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission’s decision to grant a 25-year parallel power distribution licence to Eleven Power Private Limited, led to disruptions. Power cuts were reported between 10 am and 6 pm, with Sector 25 being among the worst-hit areas. The district administration has established a control room to monitor the situation and coordinate responses to service disruptions.

बुधवार को पंचकूला के कई हिस्सों में बिजली कटौती हुई क्योंकि हरियाणा पावर यूटिलिटी के कर्मचारियों ने बिजली वितरण के निजीकरण के खिलाफ तीन दिवसीय हड़ताल शुरू कर दी। हरियाणा इलेक्ट्रिसिटी रेगुलेटरी कमीशन के Eleven Power Private Limited को 25 साल का पैरेलल पावर डिस्ट्रीब्यूशन लाइसेंस देने के फैसले का विरोध करने वाली इस हड़ताल से व्यवधान उत्पन्न हुआ। सुबह 10 बजे से शाम 6 बजे के बीच बिजली कटौती की सूचना मिली, जिसमें सेक्टर 25 सबसे ज्यादा प्रभावित इलाकों में से एक था। जिला प्रशासन ने स्थिति की निगरानी और सेवा व्यवधानों पर प्रतिक्रियाओं का समन्वय करने के लिए एक नियंत्रण कक्ष स्थापित किया है।
