Expired Food, Pests Found At Delhi Online Food Delivery Stores

An enforcement drive by Delhi's Food Safety Department ahead of the festival season uncovered expired food products like green peas, Greek yoghurt, and brownies at online food delivery and retail company storage facilities. Inspections also revealed unhygienic conditions, inadequate pest control, and temperature lapses. Officials found flies, mosquitoes, a lizard, and spider webs at one premises, while another had dirty crates and insufficient rat traps. The government has directed officials to tighten market monitoring to ensure food safety standards are met.

त्योहारी सीजन से पहले दिल्ली के खाद्य सुरक्षा विभाग की एक कार्रवाई में ऑनलाइन फ़ूड डिलीवरी और रिटेल कंपनी के स्टोरेज में हरी मटर, ग्रीक योगर्ट और ब्राउनी जैसे एक्सपायर्ड खाद्य उत्पाद मिले। निरीक्षण में अस्वास्थ्यकर स्थितियां, कीट नियंत्रण की कमी और तापमान में लापरवाही भी सामने आई। अधिकारियों को एक जगह मक्खियां, मच्छर, एक छिपकली और मकड़ी के जाले मिले, जबकि दूसरी जगह गंदी क्रेट और चूहे पकड़ने के अपर्याप्त जाल थे। सरकार ने अधिकारियों को खाद्य सुरक्षा मानकों को पूरा करने के लिए बाजार की निगरानी कड़ी करने का निर्देश दिया है।
