Banda Municipality Took Nine Months to Issue Death Certificate, Cites Whitener Use

In Banda, Uttar Pradesh, a municipality took nearly nine months to issue a death certificate, citing whitener use and overwriting on the application as reasons. The family had to approach the permanent lok adalat when the certificate was not issued after submitting all necessary documents. The court questioned the delay and the municipality's reasoning. Following court intervention, the municipality recommended and issued the certificate in May 2026. The court has now directed an investigation into the responsible officials for departmental negligence.

नौ महीने बाद मृत्यु प्रमाण पत्र जारी, नगर पालिका ने बताई वाइटनर के इस्तेमाल की वजह

उत्तर प्रदेश के बांदा में एक नगर पालिका ने मृत्यु प्रमाण पत्र जारी करने में लगभग नौ महीने का समय लिया, इसके लिए आवेदन पर वाइटनर के इस्तेमाल और ओवरराइटिंग को कारण बताया। सभी आवश्यक दस्तावेज जमा करने के बाद भी जब प्रमाण पत्र जारी नहीं हुआ तो परिवार को स्थायी लोक अदालत का दरवाजा खटखटाना पड़ा। अदालत ने देरी और नगर पालिका के तर्क पर सवाल उठाए। अदालत के हस्तक्षेप के बाद, नगर पालिका ने मई 2026 में प्रमाण पत्र की सिफारिश की और जारी किया। अदालत ने अब विभागीय लापरवाही के लिए जिम्मेदार अधिकारियों की जांच के निर्देश दिए हैं।
