The dollar index is holding above the 100 mark in Asian trading, nearing an 8-week high due to expectations of further interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve. Fed officials have indicated that high inflation is a significant concern, not solely driven by oil prices. Chicago Fed Bank President Austan Goolsbee noted that strong demand, tariffs, and supply shocks could also be contributing factors.
