Sebi Issues Final Order Against Axis Capital, Imposes Regulatory Censure

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has issued a final regulatory censure against Axis Capital Limited, a subsidiary of Axis Bank. The order, dated October 28, 2026, follows interim restrictions imposed in September 2024 and modified in November 2024. Sebi noted that no harm to investors or fraudulent design was alleged. The development led to Axis Bank shares falling over 1% on the NSE. Axis Capital's operations in other segments, like equity capital markets, were not restricted.
