Supreme Court Orders Bengal To Grant Mahua Moitra Circuit House Stay On One Day's Notice

The Supreme Court has directed the West Bengal government to provide Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra with accommodation at the government circuit house in Krishnanagar. The court specified that she should be granted access on just one day's notice, a departure from the three to four days' advance intimation previously required by the district administration. A bench noted that such disputes should ideally not necessitate Supreme Court intervention. They suggested establishing a standard operating procedure for MPs' constituency visits, especially with the festive season approaching.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार को निर्देश दिया है कि वह तृणमूल कांग्रेस की सांसद महुआ मोइत्रा को कृष्णानगर के सरकारी सर्किट हाउस में आवास उपलब्ध कराए। कोर्ट ने कहा कि उन्हें सिर्फ एक दिन के नोटिस पर यह सुविधा मिलनी चाहिए, जबकि पहले जिला प्रशासन को तीन से चार दिन पहले सूचना देनी पड़ती थी। एक बेंच ने कहा कि ऐसे विवादों के लिए आदर्श रूप से सुप्रीम कोर्ट के हस्तक्षेप की आवश्यकता नहीं पड़नी चाहिए। उन्होंने सांसदों के अपने निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों के दौरे के लिए एक मानक संचालन प्रक्रिया स्थापित करने का सुझाव दिया, खासकर त्योहारी सीजन नजदीक आने के साथ।
