The EU is nearing completion of bilateral trade agreements with six out of eleven ASEAN states, with deals with Singapore and Vietnam already active. Negotiations with Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia are progressing, and a substantial agreement has been reached with the Philippines. This expansion of EU trade ties with Southeast Asia comes as the bloc aims to bolster economic cooperation amidst rising geopolitical tensions. The EU's goods trade with ASEAN reached €274.
