The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has restituted properties valued at Rs 238.90 crore, with a current market value exceeding Rs 800 crore, in the Neomax Properties money laundering case. This action follows a Madras High Court order directing the sale of attached properties and distribution of proceeds to thousands of investors allegedly defrauded by the real estate group. The ED's investigation, initiated based on an FIR by the Economic Offences Wing, revealed Neomax collected funds by promising high returns on real estate projects but diverted the money.
