Supreme Court to Hear Plea Against Delhi Police Blocking Peaceful Protests

The Supreme Court indicated it will list a petition alleging the Delhi Police is preventing peaceful protests and marches to Jantar Mantar. A counsel informed the bench, headed by Chief Justice Surya Kant, that ordinary citizens, students, and political leaders are being denied the right to protest. The petition seeks judicial intervention to direct the police to allow peaceful demonstrations. The court stated it would hear the matter after it is listed, allowing the petitioner to present their arguments on the fundamental right to protest.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने संकेत दिया है कि वह जंतर मंतर तक शांतिपूर्ण विरोध प्रदर्शनों और मार्च को दिल्ली पुलिस द्वारा रोके जाने के आरोपों वाली एक याचिका पर सुनवाई करेगा। एक वकील ने मुख्य न्यायाधीश सूर्यकांत की अध्यक्षता वाली पीठ को सूचित किया कि आम नागरिकों, छात्रों और राजनीतिक नेताओं को विरोध करने के अधिकार से वंचित किया जा रहा है। याचिका में पुलिस को शांतिपूर्ण प्रदर्शनों की अनुमति देने का निर्देश देने के लिए न्यायिक हस्तक्षेप की मांग की गई है। अदालत ने कहा कि सूचीबद्ध होने के बाद वह इस मामले की सुनवाई करेगी, जिससे याचिकाकर्ता को विरोध के मौलिक अधिकार पर अपनी दलीलें पेश करने का मौका मिलेगा।
