Pakistan's Army has rejected India's claim that a former Special Services Group (SSG) soldier was killed in a counter-terrorism operation in Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Indian officials identified the deceased as Mohd Asif, a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist involved in recent attacks. However, Pakistan Army spokesman Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry presented a man he identified as Asif, stating he was alive and from Attock district. The presented individual confirmed his retirement from the SSG after 18 years of service and denied being killed in Kashmir.
